PRIMARY & SECONDARY
KEY DIFFERENCE | PRIMARY
- Primary is Primary memory is directly accessible by CPU
- Nature of parts of primary memory varies: RAM memory volatile, ROM- Non- volatile.
- It is made up of semi-conductors.
- It has limited storage. capacity.
- It is more expensive than secondary storage Devices.
- It is also known as main memory ou Internal memory.
- Example: RAM, ROM, Cache memory, PROM, EPROM, etc.
KEY DIFFERENCE | SECONDARY
- Secondary memory is not directly accessible by CPU.
- It is always non volatile in nature.
- It is made up of magnetic & optical material.
- It stores bulk amount of data in single unit.
